I just bought a new motorcycle and paid cash for it. When it came to finalize the sale, they had me sign a power of attorney form stating that it was a "limited power of attorney that allowed them to make corrections if something was wrong on my tag info, or registering info. My question is, is this common when buying a bike? I asked them if I would receive the title in the mail, and they said yes…. so should I be concerned? I did read the paper, and dont remember anything out of the ordinary… but this is on my mind and im just wondering if anyone else is used to this practice?
Did you buy from a dealership?
Went I bought mine last year I signed a similar paper, they explained that it was for things relating to obtaining the title and registration. That if there was something wrong they would handle it for me.
